A furnace almost never fails on a mild afternoon — it fails at 5am when it’s below zero. Our technicians are NATE-certified and carry the parts that actually strand people: igniters, flame sensors, capacitors, pressure switches. Most repairs finish on the first visit.

Symptoms

What your furnace is telling you

Most no-heat calls come down to one of these. Naming what you're seeing when you call helps us bring the right part on the first trip.

  1. 01

It runs, but the air is cold

Usually a failed igniter, a dirty flame sensor, or a gas valve that isn't opening.

  2. 02

It starts, then shuts off a minute later

Short cycling. Often a clogged filter, a tripped limit switch, or a blocked flue.

  3. 03

Banging or booming when it lights

Delayed ignition — gas pooling before it lights. Stop using it and call.

  4. 04

The burner flame is yellow, not blue

Incomplete combustion. This is the one that warrants shutting the system off.

  5. 05

    Your CO detector went off

Leave the house first, then call. We'll test the heat exchanger for cracks.

  6. 06

Bills climbing with no change in weather

The system is working harder than it should — often airflow or a failing part.

Scope

What a repair visit covers

We quote the repair before we touch it. If the honest answer is that a replacement makes more sense than a repair, we'll tell you that too — and the estimate for it is free.

  • Full diagnostic — we find the actual cause, not just the symptom
  • Combustion and heat exchanger inspection on every gas furnace we open
  • Flame sensor, igniter, pressure switch, limit switch and inducer testing
  • Thermostat and control board verification
  • Airflow and filter check, since that's the root cause more often than the part is
  • The price, in writing, before we start the repair
  • Common parts stocked on the truck — most repairs finish the same visit

Questions we get asked

Do you repair furnaces you didn't install?

Yes. We service every major brand — Carrier, Bryant, Trane, Lennox, York, Rheem, Goodman, Amana, American Standard and more. We install Carrier, but we repair whatever is already in your house.

Is it worth repairing an old furnace or should I replace it?

The rough rule is age times repair cost. If the furnace is over 15 years old and the repair runs into four figures, replacement usually wins on total cost. But a 12-year-old furnace with a $300 part is worth fixing. We'll give you both numbers and let you decide.

How fast can you get here for no heat?

Same day whenever the schedule allows, and we run an after-hours emergency line for nights and weekends. Call as early as you can — the coldest mornings fill up fast.

My furnace keeps shutting off before the house warms up. Is that dangerous?

Short cycling isn't usually dangerous on its own, but it's a symptom of something else — a clogged filter, a failing limit switch, or a blocked flue. The flue blockage is the one that matters, because it can back combustion gases into the house. Get it looked at.

Should I replace the filter myself?

Yes, and it's the single best thing you can do for the system. Every one to three months depending on the filter and whether you have pets. Out here, ag dust in the spring and fall loads filters faster than the box says.
